We thank all of you who are sending used stamps in directly to Hearing Dogs for Deaf People or to us to pass on, this really does make a difference and allows the charity to continue to do the outstanding work they are doing, providing hearing dogs for the deaf.
Training the dogs can be an expensive business and so running the charity takes a great deal of effort and also finance, which these stamp donations go towards. If you have never seen a hearing dog in action they are highly trained and they can alert deaf people to crucial sounds like the alarm clock going off and even danger signals like the fire alarm. These are things which can help to make a deaf persons life so much easier.
Plus they have a dog who can be their friend and give them company, as many deaf people can feel rather isolated from society. You can`t put a value on this and it is great to see how much pleasure they can bring to peoples lives. So please keep sending in your used stamps, all your efforts are much appreciated by the charity and us here at Lisburn Hearing Centre.
